Replacing the connectors

The amp is designed to be pulled out of a card cage and thus employs custom connectors that do not require and twisting, screwing, or locking. These are not standard RF connectors. However, they are not very difficult to replace.

The input connector is on a small board, held on to the main assembly with screws and standoffs. There is a small bare wire that goes from the center pin to the board trace.

The output connector is also on a small board, which is soldered directly to the main board. The center pin of this connector goes to a trace on the small board, the trace is then soldered to the main board.
